So I want to follow up to a blog post I did a little over a month ago.  I, along with some other lovely internet people that I don’t really know, committed to a 30 day giving challenge.  Basically the idea was to give for 30 days…give a smile, kind words, a helping hand, just whatever you can give at any moment.  Here’s the actual post if you’d like to read it: CLICK HERE FOR 30 DAY CHALLENGE POST

I’m a pretty nice person in general (anyone that knows me can attest to that, but don’t ask the following 76 people…  j/k) so giving a smile or kind words wasn’t much of a stretch for me.  But I wanted to do the challenge because I wanted to see what it would be like to be aware of the giving rather than just going about my day.  And, I wanted to see if I could give more than I usually do.  Here’s what happened:

The first day was really good.  I smiled more at people and was kinder on the roads.  The second day was more interesting.  There was a guy in his car that was pulled way out from where he was suppose to be.  As I drove by him I gave him a dirty look and threw a hand up in the air meaning WTF!  As soon as I drove past him I realized what I had done.  I felt awful.  Did he really deserve a nasty look & a WTF sign (I didn’t flip him off if that’s what you’re thinking…just you know, a WTF)?  I mean, we all make mistakes, right?  I’m sure there’s been a handful of times that I’ve done that exact thing.  I wanted to turn around and give him a big smile and a “I’m so sorry” wave but I didn’t.  I thought that might be a little weird…he might have even given me a WTF sign then!  HA  I did, however, apologize to him and wish him well in my mind.

A few days later I was taking my little Max to school.  We were driving down the alley and there was a huge trash can in the way.  I decided to drive around it…after all we were running a bit late.  But, as I’m driving around it I’m thinking to myself “I know what I need to do.  I need to move it out of the way.”  I didn’t!  Again, I felt awful.  Luckily, it was still in the middle of the road on my way home from taking him to school so I was able to redeem myself!  (It’s an even better feeling when you give without someone looking.)

I loved doing this.  It’s such a good feeling to make someone’s day and to just be more polite in general.  I gave several spirit jumps (sending a small gift to a cancer patient to lift their spirits), and I always did my best to make the cashier, at Target, Walmart, or wherever I was, to feel better about their jobs (especially if I could tell they were just totally beaten down).  Being aware of what I was giving made me feel a sense of lightness, like everything is good and I’m not weighed down by negativity.  I just felt happier!

On the other side of the giving coin is receiving!  Here’s what I received out of this challenge:

–People were so nice to me on the roads.  I was going first at stop signs, people were waving me in to get in front of them, & I was even given a parking space when we both got to it at the same time!

–My husband took me on a surprise date because he wanted to let me know how much he appreciates me!

–On our date we went to an awesome sushi restaurant (Kenichi) and our entire bill was comped!

But…most importantly,

–I felt good.  I felt happier.  Period.

Just wanted to share these beautiful photos that I took of Niagara Falls this past Memorial Day weekend. One of the Seven Wonders of the World and referred to as one of the most “spiritual places on this earth” by Paramahansa Yogananda, this vortex truly replenishes the soul! It is amazing how refreshed and rejuevenated you feel after visiting this spot. I took many more photos especially of my daughters. Now I am looking forward to scrapbooking them!

Yesterday I listened to Jerry Hicks and Abraham suggest that very often we don’t consciously realize when our desires have manifested. 

Jerry gave the example of putting together his “vision board,” tucking it away in the back of a closet, then discovering it five years later to realize every single thing on the board had come to fruition.  !! 

(Sounds a lot like John Assaraf’s experience with his dream house as told in The Secret, doesn’t it?)

I wondered how often that happens to the rest of us.  Looking at my “board” to see if anything had unfolded I hadn’t given credit for, sure enough, there was a money affirmation with my “big fat cash” monthly income goal, which I hit last year. 

Huh.  Must have eased my way into that so gradually I didn’t even realize it!

In trying to remember when I created the affirmation, I knew this wouldn’t be a puzzle if I used dates in my manifesting.

Which made me think of Tiffany’s question last week:

I was wondering if it was okay to set deadlines. I know, when used improperly, deadlines can be discouraging; however, I feel so great that I know the deadlines would work out. Thanks for any insight!

Since I’ve missed my share of deadlines (the manifestation often seems to unfold just after the deadline passes), I rarely use them.  (Probably works that way for me because the self-imposed date feels like “pressure” and as soon as the pressure’s off, Universe escorts the manifestation right in.)

So I wondered what YOUR experiences with time frames and deadlines regarding manifesting with the law of attraction are.

Law of Attraction is based on the fact that we live in a vibrational universe. Your thoughts are the vibrational seeds of creation. Every manifestation was once a thought. The feelings that accompany a thought let you know that your vibrations are a match for the outcomes that you desire.

So, if you are thinking about what you want, but feeling about its absence…what are you creating? You are creating more of the lack or absence of your desire.

How can you be happy about something you want but you don”t have?
I am not called the Joy Genie because I grant wishes, but because I know how to get happy. And getting truly in a vibration of joy is one of the fundamental ways to make sure the Universe grants your wishes. This is because the Law of Attraction responds to the vibrations of thoughts, not the words. So, if you are thinking, “I really want to take a beach vacation in Maui”, but your vibration is one of lack, you aren’t sending the right message. If your emotions are a match for the empty and deprived feelings you have when you think about how you wish you could do that, you are not a match for it.

To become a match for your beach vacation, or any desire, you have to be feeling good. If you have been doing a lot of reading and studying about Law of Attraction, this may not be a new idea. But, I”ve noticed that folks have a hard time really grasping what this looks like.

Here”s a story from my friend, Sue, that might illustrate.
Their family is walking down a city street. Sue and her husband, Jake, are discussing the details of financing the car they want to buy. They are reviewing cost factors and how to tighten the budget a bit to cover the monthly payments. They are a kind of excited about the car, but also anxious about the costs.
Behind them trail the kids. They are goofing around, enjoying the bustle of the big city, awed by the tall buildings, the bright lights and the people in fancy business attire. Five year old, Jacob, is enjoying the city lights. He is also very focused on his new shoes and the sound his feet make as they squeak on the pavement. He is happy and care free.

Ten year old, Matt, is daydreaming about how he is gonna grow up and be a pilot, own his own jet and fly all over the world to big cities like this one. Suddenly, Matt calls out: I’m rich! He is jumping around and waiving a $50 bill around. Matt found the bill on the sidewalk. Mom or Dad probably stepped right over it!

This little story is a great demonstration of how vibration works. You  see, Matt is in a joyful vibration of abundance. He isn’t  just thinking about being rich, he is feeling the joy of it, as if it were already a given. His little brother is happy, but with no focus beyond the moment. Life is good. Sue and Jake are offering a mixed, or conflicting vibration. The dominant vibration they are in is worry or concern. Matt finds the money because it is a match for his focus and his feelings.

It”s kind of funny, as adults we aim to help our kids to be like us, to be practical and watch our pennies, like Sue and Jake were doing. If we could take our lessons from Matt we would put our energy into enjoying the passionate and unbridled joy that comes from imagining our desires as already done. Its the kids who envision a bright future and hold fast to the image and the emotion who get the results.

How do you get the Universe to deliver if you are a grown up? Expect success. Expect it and enjoy the joy of knowing that. Look, if you expect something to happen, you aren’t also worried that it won’t happen. The vibration of worrying: “will it?”,  “Can it?”,  “Is it gonna happen in time?”…these are not a vibrational match that enables us to receive.

“I know I am gonna be rich, own a jet and fly around the world.” That is a vibration of joy and expectation. From that place money can just show up on the sidewalk AND in that vibration, Matt could see the money that his parents walked right by!

To “get” the Universe to deliver your Hawaiian vacation, your buns of steel or your perfect job, you need only be in the vibration of joyful expectation that it will be delivered. Most of us are walking around in the uncertain expectation of “is it coming and when?”. Let yourself be a little more like Matt and keep the channels open for the Universe to deliver on your wishes.
