You see, everyone comes into this world with a clear mind, and a belief that everything is possible. All is positive and well. Remember as a child, you could do and become everything, without any boundaries! As we grow up however, we pick up beliefs, fears and limitations from our surroundings and peers that gradually form the person we are today. A lot of these beliefs unfortunately are negative and as we build our lives they limit us in our actions and being. Very often they therefore contribute to unhappiness or feeling unfulfilled in our lives and business. It can be the smallest –seemingly harmless- remark from a mother like “just let me handle that, you are no good at that” that can convince you that you are not good at a certain task. A teacher who calls a pupil “the clumsy one” can do more harm with this remark than he realizes when repeated often enough. With every remark the belief is harnessed further in the child that it indeed is clumsy. Even though a remark is said with a smile or with the intent to be funny, it still leaves a legacy in the belief system.

This programming of course doesn’t stop at adulthood; it keeps influencing people in all stages of life. We are being influenced by our parents, kids, partner, friends, colleagues, television, newspapers, and magazines and so on. Sometimes in a positive, but very often in a negative way. No wonder we limit ourselves in so many ways! Belief is the key to your success. If you belief you can do something, you can. If you belief you can’t do something, you will be right too.

The good news is: we can reprogram our mind and replace our negative, limiting beliefs for positive contributing ones. Positive brainwashing is what I like to call it! This can be done by the use of so called affirmations.

An example is “I easily do 10 sales calls a day”. Or “I am an excellent negotiator”. By stating this affirmation regularly during your day, you will achieve the goal you have set for yourself easier. This positive self talk helps your mind to overcome beliefs that you have about yourself, that limit your success and actions. Compare our mind with a computer: when you change the input, the output will change accordingly. So if you have the limiting belief that you are no good in public speaking (probably because of negative experiences in the past) you can actually reprogram your mind by stating the following affirmation: “ I am an excellent public speaker. I love to speak for huge audiences and people love to hear me talk”. By affirming this belief over and over, you actually start to believe it and your mind will find a way to make this statement a reality. At some stage, you might decide to do a course in public speaking, or someone might ask you to speak at some kind of seminar, which forces you to work on your speaking skills. Somehow, these affirmations help you to reach the goal you have set for yourself and open doors for you that would otherwise have been kept closed. And this works for virtually everything.

Imagine standing for a big river, with a heavy stream. You have to cross it, but you don’t think you can actually do it. Your belief is keeping you from crossing, although you physically should be able to do it easily. It just looks too hard! Then someone else comes up from behind you, and without thinking starts crossing the river and gets to the other side. His belief was positive, and he knew he could do it. The interesting thing is that this will probably influence your belief: “if he can do it, I can do it too” and you will then cross the river without any problem at all. Similar things happen when a group of people is introduced to the phenomenon of fire walking. At first a big group of people will say that there is no way they will walk on fire. Until…other people with higher beliefs go first, then all of a sudden everyone else rushes over to do it as well.

So think about YOUR beliefs, and try to discover which belief are actually holding you back from reaching your full potential in your life. Then, one by one, start eliminating these beliefs from your system. Formulate an affirmation that counters your negative belief, and re affirm it daily. Write them in your diary, on your bathroom mirror, next to your computer; anywhere you see it often and say the affirmation out loud as often as possible. You will be happily surprised by the results!

Another powerful way to manifest your goals is by visualizing them. By looking at a picture of your goal or dream daily with a strong desire, you will start attracting them in your life. 1. Not fully trusting in the Law of Attraction

   The first mistake that people make is not fully trusting in the law of attraction. Society puts a lot of doubts into your mind and it can be very hard to believe that you can basically order what you want. Even if you have the best intentions to try this out you can really mess up your results by not fully believing. In order to get over this hump you need to think about what you have to lose. There are millions of people all over the world who successfully manifest what they want in life. All you need to do is take a chance and turn off your doubts.

2. Don’t visualize in the right way

   Another mistake that people make is when they don’t visualize in the right way. It can be frustrating to think about what’s “right” and “wrong” at first, but there are some quick fixes that will help you out. Part of the problem is not going into enough detail. You may tentatively start to visualize your desires in your mind, but when you’re vague to the universe you won’t get anything in return. The law of attraction has to do with your thoughts and emotions and what they bring into your life. The thought is that if you are constantly being negative you will only attract negative things. If you start to think positively and have strong, happy emotions about the things you want you’ll attract those instead.

This all sounds wonderful, but many people will find it hard to switch their thoughts from negative to happy. Most don’t even realize it when they’re being negative! It’s best to start out slowly by learning how to visualize. Soon enough you’ll have trained your brain to think about things in a better way. It will start a chain reaction of great things happening in your life that you never thought were possible.

The first thing you need to do is get it set in your mind what you do not want. You need to do this exercise so that those negative thoughts do not start to creep in your mind. When you know what you do not want you can cast those things aside and only attract positive and desired things.

Next is the fun part! Make a list of the things you want in your life for the future. Put these things the order that they are important to you. Of course, you’ll want to focus on the ones that are the most important of all. You need to learn how to visualize to get these things to happen in your life.

When you make this list and start to visualize yourself experiencing these great life changes it’s like putting in your “order” to the universe. Since you are training your brain to only want these things and to think positively you’ll receive these positive desires and negative things will stop happening to you.

So how to visualize?

It’s actually a lot easier than you think. The chances are good that you see images in your mind all the time. Reading a novel and talking to someone as they tell you a story are both things that provoke visualization.

Even though you visualize all the time in the background, you need to turn this skill into something you can use to get exactly what you want. You can’t just skim the surface and expect to get results, you have to go deep into a stage of visualization and really start to own it.

Painting a picture in your mind means blocking everything else out. You can’t have any distractions at all. Do you have the problem many people have where all you can think about is some kind of impending doom? Maybe you’re in debt or you are nervous about a public speaking event coming up. You probably don’t have any problems visualizing those at the time because your emotions are involved. Instead of emotionally involving yourself in the negative aspects of your life you should emotionally involve yourself in the positive things you’re trying to attract. Many people think that they can just say or think, “I want that” and expect it to happen. If you don’t focus your vision and harness that emotional energy you’ll have a hard time getting the things you desire out of life.

Start out by creating a vivid picture in your mind of you already having achieved your goals. Really make yourself feel the emotions as if they were happening right then. Since you’re creating a state of utter happiness and you’ve “already” reached your goal your brain will start to force itself to create that path.

Many people will make the mistake of not being specific enough. You really have to get very detailed with what you visualize. Do you want a new car? See every single nook and cranny of that car in your mind. Feel the fabric, smell the fresh interior, feel the rubber of the tires. Hear the sound of the engine as you turn the key.

You have to focus on visualization and repeat the process at least once a day for a full ten minutes. It is recommended that you do it more often! The more frequently you use the power of visualization the more the ideas will sink into your mind and manifest.

Learning how to visualize is not hard, but it does take discipline. Make this the first day of the rest of your life as you use the power of visualization to really make your dreams come true.

It’s only 3 of us, but with our 17-month son, we have a lot of stuff to bring. Pampers, books, beach toys, clothes, portable toques para cada celular no mercado. high chair, umbrella stroller, milk, bottles, and many other things. So exciting!

We’re staying at Westin Bali so it’s a very good opportunity for doing visualization. Comfort and luxury of a 5-star hotel. Yes, I’ll take pictures of the beach, swimming pool, sauna, garden, tennis court, and much more… and make them my vision board!

It’s indeed very simple.

Just take out what???s precious from them and they???ll realize how grateful they are to have that precious thing before it???s taken from them (By taking out, I don???t mean to literally taking out. Just keep it away for a certain period of time).

For example, for a kid. His mom is really precious to him. She always takes care of him daily. Once she gets sick and can???t take care of him. He???ll feel grateful at that time.

Here’s a more scientific insight from my friend, Ellese.

Whenever we need to encourage a particular behavior, we can always use the Pavlovian conditioning of pleasure seeking and pain avoidance. Like what you were suggesting, relate to the kid the importance of being grateful of important things in life that he may be taking for granted i.e. the mum by taking it away temporary. That is pain avoidance. The kid learns to treasure whatever he has now that he???s been through the possible loss/pain.

The other way is to educate him on the pleasure part. Teach him what???s the benefits of being grateful??? tell him stories of people who???ve been grateful and became so admirable that stories of them were passed down. Encourage them to learn from them. Sooner or later, such wonderful stories will be embedded in the subconscious, always reminding him the importance and benefits of being grateful.

You can use this tip to make your kid grateful.

To be honest, I’m experiencing it now. I’m grateful to my house servants and babysitter. Why? Because they all left for their annual vacation (we call it “mudik” in Indonesian, and all house servants are “mudik” now) and my wife and have to keep my house tidy ourselves, including washing clothes, watering the garden, and cooking.

I sure wish my Malaysian friend, Raymond Chua, to come and visit me. You know, since his hobby for stress relieving is cleaning!

One of my passion is parenting and baby development. Having been a new father (my son is still 16-month old so I consider myself as a new father) I have little experience and education about parenting and baby development. In fact I’m still amazed why parenting is not taught in school, in university or college. In short there’s no formal education about parenting so my wife and I learn a lot from parenting experts such as Ernest Wong, Glenn Doman, and Tony Buzan, to name a few.

Therefore since there’s no formal education about parenting, I want to share what I’ve learned, because I believe parenting is very important and it’s a task that’s given by God to us as parents.
